We see Corporate Social Responsibility as our commitment to society, our clients and our employees. A strategy that provides a valuable framework designed to improve the way we conduct business and enhance the service we deliver for our clients. It defines how we work and how we relate to others.
Savills Spain Corporate Social Responsibility strategy is based on two areas – social responsibility and environmental responsibility.
Environment
Our business activities are focused on respecting the environment, and we are committed to developing our business whilst promoting environmental awareness amongst our professionals. We continually strive to be more efficient in terms of the resources we consume and reducing our environmental footprint.
Best internal practices
We continuously strive to be more efficient in the consumption of resources and minimize the environmental impact that we generate.
LEED Platinum and WELL-Gold Certified
Our Headquarters in Madrid, located at Castellana 81, holds Platinum LEED certification for Core & Shell. Castellana 81 is also the first WELL office building in Spain and the fifth building in Europe to obtain the Gold WELL Building Standard in the Core & Shell category.
Eficiency Energy Project
We have implemented services in energy saving systems: motion sensors for lighting, installation of energy saving lamps, tap regulation devices to limit water consumption, electricity consumption meters to identify economic savings lamps, among others.
Restoration of natural spaces
In collaboration with the International Foundation for the Restoration of Ecosystems (FIRE), we have carried out the restoration of two public plots of Olmeda de las Fuentes through the planting of native species. With this initiative, we have contributed to improve the habitat of the species of flora and fauna of the area, favoring the increase of local biodiversity.
Sustainability and investigation
Savills Spain in collaboration with Garrigues Medio Ambiente y Aire limpio (Garrigues Environment and Clean Air), carries out a survey aimed at the main companies in Spain, in order to ascertain the level of sustainability in their headquarters and determine the measures that companies are adopting in line with their commitment to protecting the environment and saving energy in their offices.
Client advisory
Our Sustainability and Environmental services offer sustainable architecture and energy efficiency solutions.
We advise companies on obtaining AENOR’s BUC certification and LEED, BREEAM and WELL too.
Society
Our commitment to society is mainly focused on four areas of action: knowledge dissemination, development cooperation, inclusion of disable people and corporative volunteering.
Spreading knowledge
In order to promote research and development in the real estate sector and improve training and specialisation for professionals working within the sector, Savills Spain regularly organises and promotes courses, conferences and seminars. These activities mainly concern urban planning, architecture and design and environment conservation.
In addition, the vast majority of the company’s management team regularly speak at various events and training sessions, thereby actively contributing to spreading knowledge and best practices within the sector.
Integrating disabled people
In collaboration with other foundations and entities, we develop initiatives to promote personal autonomy while removing architectural and urban barriers that hinder the integration of people with disabilities into society.
One of our most important initiatives in this area is the Accessibility Guide we are developing in collaboration with Fundación Once and Fundación Seres. This guide aims to increase awareness of the guidelines that ensure that people with disabilities can access and use office space independently, so they can fully participate in society.
Corporate volunteering
At Savills Spain we want to enhance the participation of our employees in solidarity actions beyond the initiatives that we have encouraged for several years. We want to consolidate a corporate volunteering culture within the Organization.
Our accession to the United Nations Global Compact shows our strong commitment to our social responsibility and a sincere statement of our strong desire and willingness to follow and promote its ten principles.
